About Us


Marta Puig – Marta was born in a Spanish family, lives in Barcelona and is a qualified English teacher. Having lived in Dublin for four years, returning fluent in the language and culture in Ireland, she is a firm believer that in order to learn a language it is important to be fully immersed in its culture and its people. Our “Total Immersion” philosophy really works! Marta oversees all the academic  aspects of our courses and coordinates our carefully selected network of qualified Spanish teachers and their families who fully support our language learning philosophy.

Our Teachers

Our host Teachers are all qualified Spanish or Catalan Teachers. We choose the best Teachers with experience of teaching Spanish or Catalan to Non-Spanish or Catalan speakers. We also ensure that our Spanish or Catalan Teachers and families are friendly and are focused on making your stay in their home as comfortable as possible.  We insist on inspecting every home prior to your Spanish or Catalan stay.


Claudia lives with her son in a very chic area of Barcelona.
She has a degree in Educational Philology and a Masters in Gender and Equality. She has also completed the Teaching Spanish to Foreigners course at International House. She has a great deal of teaching experience and has worked for many years giving Spanish classes to foreigners.
Claudia loves football, reading and music. She has also spent many hours doing Tai Chi and Chi kung.
She is a very friendly person who will make every effort to look after your every need.


Mar lives in an apartment in the center of Barcelona. Her 3 daughters and her mother also live with her.
She has a Law degree, a Masters in Modern Languages and a Doctorate in Spanish Literature. She is qualified as a Spanish Teacher at Barcelona University and the Cervantes Institute.
Mar likes literature, history, cinema and going to the theatre. She also likes watching and doing sports. She is an excellent cook and she loves showing her guests how to cook Spanish food.
Mar and her mother are both relaxed and polite people who can get on with any type of person.


Aurora lives alone, with her dog Amanda. She lives very close to the sea and also to the main shopping street where you can find fashionable shops and excellent restaurants.

She has the possibility of having a single student, a couple, or 2 students in separate rooms. She has a degree in philosophy and she is also qualified as a Spanish teacher with a Masters in Psychology and the education system.

She has also given Spanish classes to foreigners of different nationalities. Aurora loves travelling and getting to know people from different cultures. She also likes reading, listening to music, dancing and walking along the front at the beach.

She is a very active person who is always attentive to student’s needs.


Rita lives with her parents in a large house with impressive views onto nature half an hour by train from Barcelona.
She has a Philosophy degree, a Masters in Teacher Training to Spanish Teachers and a post graduate in Teaching Spanish to Foreigners. She has worked as a Spanish Teacher in Italy and is currently teaching in Barcelona.
All of the family likes football. Rita and her mother love taking their dog for a walk in the countryside. Rita’s father plays fronton all year, which is a game similar to tennis and he also plays volleyball in the summer.


Eva lives alone in an extremely modern flat in a beautiful seaside town.
She lives thirty minutes from Barcelona by train and two minutes on foot from the train station and the beach. She has got a degree in Translation and Interpretation and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education which has entitled her to teach languages in Spain. She has been a highly qualified Catalan, English and French teacher for 10 years now.

She is hardworking, enthusiastic, dynamic, open-minded, friendly and patient. She enjoys travelling, teaching, learning and doing outdoor activities. She loves getting involved in cultural activities and being the perfect hostess for foreigners who are eager to learn more about Catalonia.


Mireia lives with her son and her husband, Brahim, in a flat in the centre of Barcelona. Their home is very close to Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia church and ten minutes away from the beach by underground.
She has the Spanish equivalent of an MA in Hispanic Philology from Barcelona Central University. She also has a degree in theory of literature and comparative literature at the Bellaterra Autonomous University and a degree in Teacher Training and Teaching Spanish to Foreigners from the Cervantes Institute and the Barcelona Autonomous University.
Brahim is a chef and would love to offer his guests dishes from Catalonia, Spain and the Mediterranean. He is also able to offer halal food for those students coming from Arabic countries and at the same time showing the visitor the rich variety of the local cuisine.
Both husband and wife enjoy Reading, cinema, theatre, visual arts, going to the beach, bicycle riding and sailing, as well as short walks in the local countryside. They are very welcoming and they love receiving guests into their home.


Ramón lives in a house with a garden two minutes walk from the sea. His house is located in the outskirts of Barcelona thirty minutes train ride away from the centre.
Ramón lives with another Spanish Teacher called Gábor and they give the classes between them. Ramón has the Spanish equivalent of an MA in Physics and Gábor is a Translator. Both of them have a lot of experience in the world of teaching. Ramon has given Spanish and Catalan classes in Secondary schools and both of them have spent many years offering people from other countries accommodation and private Spanish classes which they plan and design the educational material for different ages and levels.
Ramón likes horse riding. They are both animal lovers and they have turtles, fish and dogs at home. They also like hiking and watching films on their home cinema projector. They have bicycles which guests can use to ride along the sea front and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place where they live.


Carmen lives in a pretty flat in the outskirts of Barcelona. The main advantage that you would have staying with Carmen is that she is very generous and available to take guests everywhere so you don’t have to walk.
Carmen has the Spanish equivalent of an MA in Hispanic Philology. She has a qualification from International House which enables her to give Spanish classes to foreigners. She has a great deal of experience giving classes, above all with Arabic students.
Carmen has two sons and one daughter, all over eighteen, but nowadays her daughter lives abroad. She also has a pet cat.
Carmen likes football, music (her sons are musicians), cinema and going to the beach. She is a very active person and a great communicator.



Toni lives in the centre of Barcelona in the gothic quarter, very close to the Rambla and the port. The neighbourhood contains many interesting cultural sights such as: The Güell Palace, The Liceo Theatre, Libraries and the Generalitat cinema, where original version films can be seen.
Toni has the Spanish equivalent of an MA in Catalan Philology. He is also qualified to work as a Secondary Teacher. He regularly keeps his training up to date by attending English conversation courses and Spoken and Written Changes in Catalan courses. He is also a writer, focusing on novels, and has won some prizes and has had some stories published in anthologies.
Toni likes travelling, cinema, outdoor sports and music. He is a very attentive person who loves getting to know people from different cultures and learning with them.


Oscar lives alone (well, with his cat Grishom) in Barcelona city centre, next to Sant Antoni marketplace, ten minutes walking from Plaça Catalunya that is considered the heart of Barcelona.
He is an Industrial Engineer, he has passed the Catalan level D exam, a Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Technical Translation and a Master’s Degree in Videogames Design.  He has a great deal of experience in giving Catalan classes and receiving foreign students in his beautiful flat. Nowadays he works as a freelance videogame designer looking for good ideas to become best sellers to create his own studio.
Oscar is a fun, open-minded, responsible 37-year-old. He is young at heart and full of energy and he hopes to share his culture, traditions and beautiful city with anyone who wants to learn about it.
He loves travelling, playing sports, cooking, good wine and playing videogames, of course. He likes walking around the old town and getting lost in its chaotic narrow streets, while thinking about his projects.


Joan lives in a beautiful old house in the suburbs of Barcelona with Xavi and his son Pol, who is 13 years old. The neighbourhood where he lives is very well connected to the centre of Barcelona and the beaches by underground, train or bicycle.
Joan has the Catalan Philology degree from the Autonomous University in Barcelona. Since he finished his degree he has worked as a Catalan, English and Spanish teacher for students of different ages, nationalities and cultural origins in his city, Barcelona and also other places, such as Ireland and Israel.
He is an optimistic, energetic and open person who is always willing to get to know people from other cultures. He is also very generous when he finds people who are interested in hos city and who want to learn about the culture and language.
His hobbies are cycling around the city, languages, cooking and music. He also sings opera.
